On March 2, 2016, 17th meeting of the Open Government Partnership Georgia Forum was held at the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The Forum was attended by the representatives of the public agencies, non-governmental and international organizations. Representatives of Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) – Director Giorgi Kldiashvili, Parliamentary Secretary Davit Maisuradze and Project Coordinator Saba Buadze – attended the meeting, led by Zurab Sanikidze, Head of the Analytical Department of the Ministry of Justice and Giorgi Kldiashvili, Director of IDFI.
The participants of the Forum discussed prospective commitments of the OGP Georgia Action Plan 2016-2017 and making additions to the members of the Forum.
Following initiatives were voiced to include in the Action Plan as commitments: establishing monitoring system on property declarations of the Civil Service Bureau’s officials; creating thematic catalogs for the electronic documents kept at the Archive of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and arrange them in alphabetical order; building smartphone application for LEPL 112; establishing effective mechanisms for informing the society about budgetary processes of the Ministry of Finance; improving functionality of the electronic identity card; establishing genealogy research system; creating online application within the project – Voice of Customer and other.
Participants of the Forum also discussed: planning the public consultations to develop the Open Government Partnership Georgia Action Plan 2016-2017, and monitoring results for past two months of the OGP Georgia Action Plan 2014-2015.
OGP Georgia Forum members have an opportunity to present new commitments before March 15 and ask for additions to the Forum staff.
Georgia needs to present its third Open Government Partnership Georgia Action Plan by the end of June.
